76 tach problem

76 tach problem
Installed crate 383 and finally got it running. It has a MSD ingition. Tach worked before new engine, but its not working now. Any thoughts on what the problem is. I assume its a wiring problem or maybe the tach wont work with this ignition system?

There are 3 wires coming out of distrib. base, black, red and orange. I have black to gound, orange to neg. coil, red to pos. coil. What color are the wires coming from the tach? I can't find them on any schematic.

I think I found the problem. The dist. is a MSD Pro-Billet ready-to-run Chevrolet V-8 Distributor. I found the directions which came with the engine and it shows four wires coming out of the dist., orange to neg. coil, red to pos.coil, black to ground and green to tach input. I dont have any green wire from the distrib. Will be calling MSD Ignition tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
