Default Pricing Variances Between Vendors

Did a quick search on this before I decided to post.

Has anybody noticed SIGNIFICANT variances in prices between vendors for what I believe are the same part?

Unnamed vendor #1, L&R complete trailing arms incl rotor: $909 EACH
Unnamed vendor #2, L&R complete trailing arms incl rotor: $390 EACH

Neither add mentions a core charge.
Only thing I can see is if #1 is new parts and #2 is rebuilt.

I don't see any advantage to using new parts since the #2 vendor has such a stellar reputation on the forum.

Is the rebuilt part "better" than the new?
Should there be any concern with rebuilt over new?

I always do some comparison pricing before purchasing parts. Over the years I have found I have three or four aftermarket vendors I can consistently go to and be comfortable with, and three or four I do not do business with.

I suppose all of us has our Good Guys and Bad Guys list.

at Vendor #2's price, you could do the job twice and still save money. If your TIME isn't a factor (such as me, 58 ,retired and looking for things to do)then the obvious choice for me is vendor 2.
I have seen rebuilt items in better shape than some "original" items.

I should add the fact that both parts are "bolt on and drive away".
No need to assemble anything.

Hi do,
Are there any other new parts on the lower priced t/a assembly besides the bearings?.
For some people, a pitted trailing arm and dust shield wouldn't make them happy.
I know that's just an appearance concern but it does matter to some owners.
Regards,
Alan

Thats what I was thinking as well.
It would appear from the websites that everything is "new".

i know i do

and in my opinion there is nothing wrong with a well rebuilt set of trailing arms. the key is that the build started with a very sound used set. based upon the vendor reputation you quote, i would assume that would be all they would consider using for their rebuilt product.
