As all of us with these goofy plastic cars can attest to, seat belts are a PITA. I drove over mine last fall (in a hurry at night w/ my 5 yr old next to me) ripping apart the belt and severing the clasp.
After much searching and about 5000 phone calls, I found Seat belt solutions in Jupiter FL.
Mine was a 71-72 vert only seatbelt (just the retractable lap belt), and $200 for the set.
As I said Jeff is extremely knowledgable (sp?) about vettes and he can walk you through what ever you need. Every one else kept telling me my needed a shoulder belt as well. But the seats are not set up for it, evidently verts ship w/out shoulder strap and then the dealer adds later if needed.

I have a 70 convertible with non retractable belts, no recess in the floorboard, and apparenly no place to bolt them, in addition to the all to common problem of no room. Anyone have similar problems with pics or tips to overcome this problem. thanks

Interesting. I just had my '76 done at SSnake-Oyl with a two month turn around and it was not cheap. Also, the webbing color did not match the original exactly. How was your match?
I bought my new set of single retractor belts from Seatbelt Solutions in March. They look great in Dark brown. I had to dye two pieces of plastic, no big deal. $300. They gave me new bolts too.
SSnakeoyl wanted $600 to restore my old set. They did not offer a single retractor set. They seemed surprised/insulted when I questioned their prices.
I like the singles better, more like a modern car and the tip is kept out of the hinge/seat/door impact area.
I know this sort of an apples to oranges comparison, but I don't need NCRS belts, just functional, safe, dark brown belts.
Mine are still on the way, but they are exact duplicate of the original. Seatbelt sol owns the old tooling from the original MFG. As long as the color is close and I am sure the GM logo is not going to be on the clasp, but big deal.
They will rebuild yours for about 150 per I think. Sounds like Snake Oil is just that.... selling snake oil to us suckers.
