I have tried them all to this point. The last thing my dealer told me was to replace the element. I still need to find one when I take it out of storage

Reason: hilarity
i found a nice fix ... when messing with the 'harmonica connector" looking for connections, i dropped the steering column and pulled the ignition connectors out half way and all my problems started .... dead power windows, choke light on, guages went crazy,.... etc. tracking this now for two weeks, i decided to look at the 'harmonica connector" again and DOH!, i found both connectors pulled out loose. plugged them back in and everything works great! give it a try, takes only about 10 mins. good luck!
I finally replaced the relay which is located under the console in front of the shifter. Remove the two screws holding the carpeted panel on the drivers side of the console and let it swing down on the rear screw.
The relay is sitting right there. I went on a couple hour drive and it never came on.
I purchased mine from Rock Auto for 1/2 the price of Corvette vendors.
It replaced a 14039662. Their part number is STD RY-144 $16.04 with shipping.
Well it took me about 30 minutes to get the fuse out and the fuse was the problem, it had blown. I installed a new 20 amp fuse and fixed the problem. Thanks guys.
Deep under the dash on the drivers side, behind the clutch pedal.
Here's my 80, which had wacky symptoms until I replaced the choke fuse. I think it is the top-right 20 amp fuse, but it should say on the panel, just not from this angle.
I had the choke light on and the engine would not drop back from 1,800 RPM to idle. Ultimately I had a blown choke fuse and a bad choke relay. The fuse is a pain at the top right of the fuse assembly. The choke relay for my '81 Corvette has a normally closed contact. After buying a "direct replacement" on line, I off out most on line relays have open contacts, not closed. I found the NC relay #25773 on line at Top Flight Automotive for $32.
So I just had my instrument cluster apart and noticed there is a window in the tach for the choke light and a lens with the word “CHOKE” on it. Obviously the 82 is fuel injected so it doesn’t have a choke. It this just a leftover from 82? Can I remove the bulb holder and use it to replace one that is bad on the cluster without causing a problem?
