Speedometer Died
Hey Guys,
My speedo stopped working yesterday, where's a good place to buy a new or used one? Also, should I attempt to rebuild this one? The odometer went out last year, so I suspect the gears in it wore out.

You have an electronic tachometer. Your problem is not likely to be the tach head, itself. Most likely due to a faulty tach circuit board (behind the gauge bezel), a bad tach filter (canister thingy on intake manifold by distributor), or broken wiring connecting any of the tach system items.

OP is talking speedometer not tachometer.

yup, sent mine out for repair/rebuild... 8 weeks from day i sent it to the day I got it back.
rebuilder on vacation, can't get parts, mine was their last one they were going to do since they can't make any money on them..etc...
Don't buy a new one either, I went thru 3 new ones, each either did not work or lasted about a month.. try tearing apart your dash 5 times....
do your research before you send to someone to fix..

Go to any swap meet and buy one cheap... then send it out for a rebuild while you continue to drive the car. No down time. Swap it out when convenient.
You didn't say what year the car is but some of the later C3 ones can be had for short money at the swaps these days.
