I know the title sounds silly, I mean how hard can it be to install the door hinge shim on one of these cars?
The problem is I took the shims off so long ago I don't remember which way they go on. Ok that sounds silly too. More to the point I know the holes go on top and the slots go on the bottom, but one of the holes is closer to the edge and one of the slots is longer than the other.
Can anyone help me with which slot goes more forward? The longer one or the shorter one?
You can incorrectly install them if you are fitting the door using the bottom bolts only on the hinges. When you go to screw in the top bolts the holes will be blocked.
Plus 1 here. The holes in the birdcage frame will not line up with the holes in the shim if they are not in the correct way, not all holes will line up. I just lay a shim on the frame until all holes do line up then i know I got it, as I can never remember myself which way they go.
