Default What would you do?

I will be acquiring a 12" electric fan that can be push or pull with 1730cfm. (Purchased off our forum sale's) I want to mount it on my A/C condesor. I was planning on putting it in the front. But as I look at my hood clearance when it's up, there's only about a inch or so clearence. There is however a great deal of space between the rad. and condensor. Would you place it there? And would you have it push or pull the air throught the condensor.

Installing the fan ahead of the radiator will just block some of the airflow with the fan body. Put a "pull" type fan on the backside of the radiator and eliminate the belt driven fan on the engine.

If you were considering using both the electric and the engine fan...don't. Both will suck energy from your powertrain system and you only need one to do the job. If you need two puller fans on the backside of the radiator, do that. But don't use both methods.

P.S. If you are running hot when A/C is on, have you actually put radiator CLEANER in the system to remove all the deposits in the radiator? That will usually improve radiator efficiency quite a bit on an old radiator. Radiator "flush" will not get that job done.

A. I would not use it.
B. Air is pushed through the condensor.

No my car runs at 185-190. I have a brand new rad. and fan-clutch. I'm just tryin to cool the condensor down some. When I ran the hose water over it, my vent temps dropped 4 degrees. I really don't want to open up the ac system again to replace the condesor to the parallel flow one. I'd like to hold off on that. So i figured i'd place an electric fan on it to cool it down some. I was really hoping to mount it in the front. But the space is limited.
