I can recommend a good high temperature paint, but I don't know that it will adhere to ceramic the same as it does to cast iron. I've used Seymour "Cast Blast" cast iron color hi-temp paint. It is good up to 1700*F. You make certain the surface to be painted is free of grease/oil/dirt, then spray a couple of light, covering coats and let dry. Then you install back on the car and run it. The heat from the headers will bake the paint/ceramic coating to fully cure it. Great stuff...on cast iron manifolds. Let us know if you try it on the coated headers.

Another possible paint is VHT hi-temp paints. They are available in most auto part stores and come in a variety of 'metal' colors (cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.).

i was thinking of scuffing up the coating a bit and then painting, since the jethot coating stuff really isn't all that great..... might have to take a trip to the stores tomorrow to see what i can come up with.... thinking black or a grey would be best as in color

If you think Jet hot is not that great wait until you put paint on them. Never found one yet that lasted more than a few miles. They are all crap. I have tried a bunch of them. If you find one that lasts more than a few miles let us know.

No problem with Seymour on cast manifolds.

I agree, as never had much luck with hi temp paint's myself. Maybe got more than a few mile's, but still seem to eventually rust. I've heard about the high temp bake on coating's, but really more for porous cast iron surfaces. Also very short shelf life, and need to use it right away. Strange about your opinion on Jet Hot, as have used several header's with this coating, and still look like new. Also very good warranty, so maybe check and see if they'll work with you on this.

Just send 'em off to Jethot, they can........oh, wait, never mind........

Seriously, tho, I gotta tell ya, I have never seen any thing out of a rattle-can work as advertised on headers. It's a buncha snake oil. Also, I've never heard anything good about the header wraps, except from people who have not used it yet.
