Default Where does this plug in?

Okay, after 4 years I have put the dash back in my 80, but I have one wire that I can't find a spot for. I thought it went into the fuse block, but I can't get it to fit any where. Thanks!

It could be different on your car but on my 73 I had one like that went into fuse panel. I believe it was the power from ignition to allow power windows to work, through a relay. I ended up bypassing the relay, fuse straight through to switches. Its a different circut, that way I can use my windows without having key engaged.

My windows are working without this plugged in, so I'm not sure if it's the same on an 80.

That was my first thought but since its an 80 my guess would be the rear window defog power.

Do you have the 80 assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM shows the various devices which plug into the fuse block and in which position they are supposed to be.

Yes, I have the AIM, but I haven't been able to find this wire yet. The wire is orange with a black stripe on it.

The car is a 4 speed, so no cruise for me. I still haven't found where it goes.

Nope, that wire is green with a tan connector on mine. This wire comes out of a harness.

on these prints it shows the orange/blk, as part of the anti theft system, plugs in to a slot on fuse box and goes to antitheft relay, (probably under console). there is also a wire marked power acc.from fuse box that is orange / blk. circuit60 that goes to rear defogger timer relay.// hope this helps some.>

That is for an item that was left off of your car .Could be heated seats heated mirrors. that looks like a power wire for an accessory,in other words,my 75 has the same wire dangling.
Check it for voltage (key on key off)

Okay I checked it for voltage and I get nothing with the key on or off. So, that means it's an extra wire for so option that I don't have?

My friend at the phone company has a little device you can hook to that wire it will tell you how long it is (close)and with another little device he could trace where that wire goes, got any phone buddy's my friend does mostly T-10 what ever in the heck that is .That's a pretty big size wire.
Nothing to worry about though!

That wire is going to "get" its power "after" its plugged into the fusebox and it will most likely only fit 1 place in the box.
Is it around 10 gauge,if so its probably for the rear defog ?
I don't remember any of the theft systems that the power could simply be unplugged, fuse removed, yes.
