Default leafspring question

im building a 75 vette with a 383 stroker and a 6/71 blower.im not planing on installing the spare tire and am running sidepipes.i have the nine leaf spring and will it be too stiff without the extra weight of the spare.if so i can take out 2 leafs to make it a seven but dont know which leafs to remove,or should i not worry about it.the body is off the frame and is easy to do now.i also removed the factory bumper structure and have a roll cage going in after the body is reinstalled.any help would be great.

Drop the leaf spring entirely, coil overs.

Bingo!!!

My wife had a '79 'Vette back when we first got married, and I wound up doing a full suspension overhaul on it. I used the VBP front springs mentioned above, along with whatever rate rear spring they recommended for her car. BEST move I ever made! The thing actually rode like a car, instead of a buckboard!!

When you drop that much weight any steel spring is probably going to be too stiff. I agree that a composite spring is probably the way to go for ride quality, but of course I am partial to the one that we produce. Let me know if you have any questions.
