First, thanks to everyone on the input for my door gap issue. I was able to get the gap looking better and working on closeing the gap. After I raised the doors that took care of a lot of the issue. Thanks much ROCO71 and Alan 71 for your input. After I get the glass work done I will post some new pictures. Just an FYI, my glass work is nothing to write home to Mom about. Now I am doing some work on the inside and don't seem to be able to find the braces that go behind the dash. Looking at the AIM it looks like there are 4 of them. Anyone know if there is a place online I can order these, or do I need to find a salvage yard to aquire some? Thanks.

Kelley

those braces are only installed on convertible models, I believe. If you have a vert without braces, You might find some at a swap meet or you might call some of the Corvette salvage parts places. You could also make your own out of steel tubing by flattening/bending the ends at the appropriate locations/angles and drilling some holes for the mounting bolts.

There are actually two different types there is also a saddle type that goes on the tranny tunnel. But they are only on verts to support the windshield. The coupe has the T-roof to support it.

So you are both saying that the baces that go from the door hinge piller in to the steering column and in from the other side are only for the convertable? if that is the case then that might answer my not being able to find them.

Check the AIM page showing the installation. If it shows 19000, all cars got the parts. If it shows 19467, only convertibles got the installation. 19437, only coupes.

For factory AC convertibles, passenger side brace is different than non-AC.
