78, did a lot of work on it over the winter and into our miserable spring. Eliminated many noises; I've had this particulate squeak for years and I need to figure it out. Listed are the symptoms:
When in drive, foot on the brake, I get a squeak, which matches the shimmy, movement of the engine. Not sure how to describe it other than shimmy, movement.
Sitting in the garage, in park, not running, I can duplicate the squeak by pushing back and fourth on the engine from the passenger side. I can duplicate it from the driver’s side, but it is much more difficult to do.
In park, running, no squeak.
The sound appears to be coming from the rear of the engine compartment, more on the passenger’s side.
Thought it might be the rear motor mount, but feel this is not the case as the mount is so far back and the sound is so pronounce in the engine compartment I don’t see how it could come from there.
Any suggestions, ideas of how to identify the sound will be greatly appreciated.

I would buy an electronic chassis ears kit. @$120? Consists of six clips you can attach to various spots that you suspect which go to an amplifier with a six channel selector switch and ear phones. You can switch to listen to various sensors while driving and isolate which sensor the noise is coming from. Works well with some practice. Good luck!!!!!
I would start by just laying under the car on a piece of cardboard and having someone rock the engine for you. It may be a lot easier to tell where exactly it is coming from with the engine about 6 inches away from your face.
