I'm putting in a new gear in my diff, so i had to take it out. At the same time i took the diff crossmember out to check it. I have always had my doubts about the fact that the bushing was loose in the bore. Here is a link to the vid.
Okay, guess i'm the only one ever having to change these. Boy i hate it when i get ripped over ****** parts.
Well, mine are fine, so I can't speak to the quality of replacement parts, but you might want to allow at least 24-hours before taking offense that people aren't replying with pertinent answers.
I just had mine out.Im pretty picky but changed everything but that. They still look great and fit snug.I feel your pain.I bought a set of adjustable strut rods. One of stripped a thread after being screwed half way in freely.I put a set of stock ones back on it.Not all aftermarket sucks but its becoming a crap shoot.
Yes the tabs are bended over and right now, they are the only thing keeping it in place.
I installed it. They fell in place, didn't have to hammer or press them in. I was thinking that when torqued onto the frame, they would somehow expand and would be ok. I should have known better. Anyway, i wouldn't have been able to send them back overseas...

If they just rotate and aren't sloppy in the crossmember, you might consider pulling them out and cleaning up the bushing and the cavity, then installing them with a good coating of silicone rubber adhesive. I know it's a bit of Bubba, but since you are probably never going to replace them again and you are in Europe it might be an OK alternative.
The last ones I bought had to be pressed in. They came from Restoration Auto Parts in Texas. E-mail address is: restorparts@novox.net. The ones prior to that came from Corvette Central. Those had to be pressed in too. My guess is your crossmember is worn. How that's possible I wouldn't guess.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the links.
I had to press out my originals, so my guess is the cavity is not worn. BTW, i had it powdercoated so even with the coating it still is loose (turning and being sloppy)

Anyway, i'm planning on getting new ones in.
They must be small, I had to put mine in the freezer for a while before trying to install them in my 73

If you want some help getting them, send me a PM. I send things to Europe all the time so I know the customs problems and how to ship so you don't get stuck with duty. Happy to help if you need it.
