Default Steering

Just bought a metering block for my 77 vette and it was installed right with the lines. Started the car and wheel spun back and forth viciously. Turned off then tried again ,and same thing, except the the steering pump was very hot to the touch. Any ideas will be appreciated..

Do you mean the power steering control valve?

You have the lines to the cyl crossed.

The hoses need to criss-cross (as shown in the lower left view) where they attach to the control valve.
