C3 Win
So the local Chevy dealer has a car show every 4th of July for the last 29 years. It is the biggest show in the area each year and the highlight of the car shows. This year, like most they had a great turnout and I would say the biggest ever for both cars and spectators. I would say at least 1,000 cars of all types, primarily pre-75 cars. I would say they probably had 75 vettes from a 54 on up with some very nice NCRS cars along with vettes of pretty much every year.
I have been going to this show for at least 10 years as a spectator, but until I finished my 69, I did not have a car in the show until last year. My daughter also bought a vette this year and since this is in our local small town, it is the highlight for both of us. She particularly likes the competition of the shows, while I think that is nice, I'm really not in it for trophies, just like to see other cars and have my car being seen. I told my daughter there is no chance of winning anything at the show as there are a tremendous amount of fantastic cars and of the 1,000+ cars only 5 trophies are given out. One for best Corvette, one for pre 51 cars, one for post 51 cars and one for custom cars and then best of show.
Well guess what, I guess the judges must have had a week moment and a C3 won "Best Corvette", and it was my restomod 69. I do think they took into consideration the details I provided on where this car started and where it is now. but it's hard for me to believe with as many gorgeous original vetts, they picked my C3.
