Engine Stamp Question
If you find one that the owner claims is warranty, it should still have the original intake, original carb, original distributor, and possibly heads, depending on the damage done that caused the block to be replaced in the first place.
If you find a CE block (it is a prefix, not a suffix, so it starts CE123456 or CEA12345 or CEB12345) and none of these parts are original to the car, then you know they just found an old CE block and dropped it in.
While it becomes an interesting note in the history of the car, the investment angles that have been part of Corvette history since 1979 has made it essentially meaningless. However, it is probably still more original than the majority of high horse big blocks out there.
