Default Smog Test

Hello,

This maybe a stupid question but hypothetically if I had the following parts, 268H Comp Cam, 3" Exhuast Front/Rear Y Pipe w/ regular cat converter, AFR 190 Heads, hedman headers, while keeping all the stock smog parts and I fail the sniffer test, whats the worst that can happen? I've never really had to deal with failing a smog test since the car that I've driven was a 2007 Mustang and it doesn't have to go through a sniffer test.

Once again, Thanks and I apologize for the stupid question since I couldn't really find an answer on the forums since most people seem to fail because they didnt have the right parts?

BTW car is in CA

As I understand it, if the vehicle cannot be made to smog, the car will be labelled a Gross polluter and will thereafter have to take the sniffer test every year instead of every other year.

Or maybe not - here is what the BAR site says:
