Netural/Safety Switch......
My 81 will not start in park, only netural. Happened all of a sudden, was working fine. I removed the side panel and tried to adjust the switch, there are slots on each end of the switch for adjustment. The screws holding the switch were VERY TIGHT, so I don't think the switch moved. But, I loosened the screws anyway and moved the switch all over the place and still it will only start in Neutral.
I'm guessing its the switch, right? TIA.

You can put the car in park, pull the connector and test for continuity. If you don't have any then yes... the switch is defective.

No Problem.... it is a easy test to perform without removing anything from the car. I highly doubt there is anything else wrong other than the switch based on the fact that the car will start in neutral.
