Can anyone tell me how long the little flaps are that cover the seat track bolts on the front of the front seats?? I am a little surprised that they are not precut or marked in some way.
I'm interested in this because I'm installing ACC carpet today too. Yeah, nothing is cut out, and there seems to be lots of extra carpet that has to be trimmed.
Hi,
I have some pictures from the carpet installation in my 71 coupe.
The carpet needs to already be completly fitted in place, but still loose, when you cut the flap because once you cut the flap you can't reposition the carpet.
Use the bolt in the rear of the track to locate the rear and push a large stiff needle up from below the body to position the track in front.
DON"T forget, and cut all four sides by MISTAKE. Only the 2 sides and rear of the flap are cut.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Alan
Now that the OP got his question answered, could you post a couple more carpet photos for me? My question is about how the carpet that covers the waterfall intersects the rear storage compartment trim. Does the carpet simply go over the upper edge of the waterfall and get glued to the back side, or does it go a little further and get tucked under the triple compartment door trim?
Hi John,
Originally the seat bulkhead carpet was extended about a 1/2" under the compartment frame. The carpet on the rear deck extends under the frame too.
I had to use tape to hold the seat bulkhead carpet in place as I pushed the frame into place. I carefully pulled the tape out as the frame went down.
Here's a couple pictures. It's a bit difficult to see because of the black carpet.
Good Luck!

Alan

Thanks for posting the pics. I used those same pictures that you posted a while back the other weekend to cut my carpet. Measure three times, then measure again, then cut.
