...I did the Shipping Data Report for my '68 convertible about 6 mos ago.

...can't remember what dealer it came through though. Don't remember off hand. Was somewhere in NW Ohio.

I received the shipping data report which listed my car's official production date, original delivery dealer code, zone number as well as the dealer's name and address.

This added to the documentation I now have on my car.

2) Unless you have questionable documents to validate, this offers nothing of use

3) This is use only if there are some NCRS awards that the previous owner is unable to provide, AND you understand that you won't get the actual results, just confirmation that it got a ____ Flight level award at a certain place and date.

and keep in mind with # 3 above, if the car has not been judged, or judged and somehow not entered in the database, then you get a blank report along with the thanks for the 300$ non-refundable query. it costs 300$ to look whether it is in the database or not.
one of the biggest scams out there..

I think the $300 fee was chosen in an attempt to scare people off- sort of like a contractor bidding high enough to ensure he doesn't get a job that he really doesn't want. I would have made it a $1000 or maybe $1500 like Joel Rosen and can think of only one reason for people wanting history that badly. Let them pay.

I think you are missing the point. The intent of the service was explained in The Restorer.

I did the shipping data report and confirmed the zone and dealer coded matched the tank sticker on my '69. The dealer was listed as Sheperd's Sales and Service in Winamac In.

I contacted the local libarary and they provided me a exact address of 820 South Monitcello and informed me it was there from 1950 till 1980 and also told me the original building burned to ground in 2005

Now it would be cool if I could find some 1969 brouchures with stamp from Sheperd's!
