Default Removable rear window

Saw an ad on Phoenix Craig's List offering a "rare" 75 coupe- one of 15 with a removable rear windows. I've owned 4 C3's including a 75 . . . but always thought removable back windows ended in `71 or 72 ?

1975 Corvette, nice, One of 15 1975 Corvettes built with removable rear window, C-3 Crate Motor, 194 fuely heads, headers, high rise, roller cam, wheels, Box A title, 50,000 miles. Spent $25,000.00 bringing it back to life. $20,000.00 or best offer. Serious offers considered.

sanity check please?

thanks

Ah good old Craigslist BS. I found an ad for one of those rare '69s that had the flip up headlights!

Removable rear window was stock from 68-72.
Duntov made fixed to eliminate that buffeting backdraft at speed w/ window out.

No such thing, not factory anyway, some have modified rear windows, just not GM in 75, last factory removable window was 72.

.thanks . . I knew neither my 73 or 74's had it . . couldn't imagine why they'd skip two years then go back to it for only 15 cars . . I was gonna call BS on the guy . . but figured I'd let him enjoy being so special . . . .

and thanks Sarge!

1972 was the last year of the factory removable rear window. However, the mounting locations were still there for a few years and it was easy to convert. I converted my '73 with a new old stock window unit and hardware. Looks factory but isn't.

Hey Ganey, was there an option to delete this? My 71 has a solid rear window and now I wonder if it was replaced at some point and time or if it came that way.

All 68-72 coupes came with the removable rear window. There never was an "option" to have a fixed rear window.

Probably was replaced by a previous owner, who got tired of the window leaking.

No. Another possibility is that it was swapped out w/ someone who had a latter model 73-77.

I always thought the removable rear glass was cool, however I had convs. before the Vette & knew what Duntov meant about that buffeting backdraft at speed w/ window out so I never changed mine.

In case any are interested it's comfortable at high speed for hours w/ t-tops off & windows up w/back glass in, however I arrived in Calif. near deaf.

What? lol.. had the t-tops off and back window out, definitely a wind tunnel. I like it best with the back window in and the tops off.

T-tops on or off doesn't matter. My back window is always out. Don't hear the buffetting.
