Personally, the terms C6 and Interesting do not seem to go together. I feel a little sorry for the C6 owner-wannabe, but this is another Something-For-Nothing story.
Many people just have no idea what water can do to the electronics of a car particularly newer computer controlled cars. Just drop your I POD or cell phone in a little water and see how well it works.
Careful there "Mike" as have a C6 myself, but know we're just funning around a bit. Known several people having their cars in floods, and insurance usually totals them. Guy had it coming, and should of known better trying to save a few buck's that way.

I found that out the hard way '89 Z24 vert, I pressure washed the engine compartment being very careful NOT to get any sensors wet, well I had nothing but electrical issues after that. The only good outcome was I was cleaning it up to sell it.
Never again will I let water get close to any "newer" under hood components.

Want to get scared?
I worked for a Benz dealer for a little while a couple of years ago. One Friday afternoon an elderly lady comes in with a R/R taillight out on a S class. Well 3 weeks and 19K (yes $19000 ) later that taillight worked just fine. The A/C was draining under the carpet. The water took out all the harnesses and modules. The good news Benz covered the repairs under warranty and the dealer provided alternate transportation.
On a 2nd note Cascio makes the GZone cell phone that is military grade and waterproof.
You need to read the entire thread, there is some real fishey stuff going on with circumventing laws regarding registration, titleing, and re certification for driving on the road. Yes the buyer was a Moron for buying that POS in the first place, but Seller is really playing games.
And I own a c-3 and a c-6!
The seller is a bit of a sleeze, but I'm sorry, the guy buys a modified, tremendously electrical computerized vehicle that was salvaged and flooded... sight (no, not "site") unseen, and ... shockingly... it doesn't run right!!!
"But your Honor... I jumped into the Atlantic Ocean and... uh... um... my pants got wet! I think they are ruined! Pay me!"
I really don't care what little regulatory loopholes the online lawyers find, if I were the judge in this case I'd look at the buyer and say, "you are f-ing kidding me, right?"
I am so sick of hearing people whine about doing the most unbelievably stupid things and cry lawyer.

I agree with all of this. That is why I didn't even read the thread, the whole story is just not believable. The guy buys a flood salvage car without looking at it, and has it shipped to him, that's hard enough to believe. Then, the shipper drops the car off in a Walmart parking lot? Sorry, my brain went off the track right there. Who paid for the shipping? Who would accept delivery as dropping a car in a Walmart parking lot? If the car wouldn't start, how did the shipper get the car into a parking space in the lot? These, and about a billion other questions, jump to mind and make me think this whole thing is somebody's idea of a joke.
I read it. Shame. I know guys that have bought salvage water damaged vehicles in the past. But directly from the insurance company. You can get them running again but its a long proceedure. You need to take them apart, dry and clean everything. The engine always sucks water in, if no attempt was made to start it and it was flushed about 10 times you can clear the water out. If you start it with water in the oil say good by to the motor. Even after problems will surface with the electrical. If its salt water forget it. Thats why insurance companies write them off.
Rules have changed up here and I think in some states. Water damaged salvaged vehicles can not be rebuilt and put on the road again.
