yeah, it should have had the aluminum intake. The sticker is fake and all of it means nothing to you. From what you have stated that you know about the car and from the only pictures you were able to supply, I'd go in and assume that it's an NOM car, not a L79 but looks like a nice daily driver. I'd take the lower estimates that you were given and figure that's about all it is worth without knowing anything else. Atleast that keeps your risk low. Get the vin and see what it tells you.
It's an auction. Go in and plan onstealing it or walking away.

That's exactly what I plan on doing, either stealing it or walking away. That's why I was wanting a floor price estimate, because I'm even planning going under what was posted here. It's an estate sale, the window sticker wasn't even used as a point of emphasis, it was simply found in the car. Who put it in there? Previous owner or auction company? I'll never know.
FYI, I did some research and the 68 L-79 had a cast iron intake, new one on me too.
The auction was an Estate auction, there were 3 Vettes auctioned. A 68 ragtop with a 4sp, 74 t-top auto, and a 75 t-top auto. The 75 was the most show ready and the 74 needed front and rear bumpers. The 68 was a nice car but needed much more detailing than the 75, also the paint was older with many nicks, chips, & a dent or two.
The 75 went for 15k, 74 for 7.5k, and the 68 went for 20K all of these prices plus 10 sellers fee. IMO (and it was shared with everyone I talked to) the 68 went way too high for the condition its in.
