wheel caps

So over the last few years i have slowly lost my wheel caps on my '82 vette. The damn things never seemed snug on there in the first place. I just ordered a new set of 4 from wilcox and was wondering if there is anytrick to getting them to stay on better??

A small bead of silicone on the tabs of the cap....works great!

Surely you can look them over and find a reasonable way of tightening their fit????

They're plastic 7T1. Not a whole heckuva lot you can fiddle with. The silicone trick works.

Make sure you clean the wheel's surface good first, to make sure that there's no wax, grease, etc. on them.

I use 2 very small dabs of clear epoxy on mine, one dab across from the other. The stuff I have looks like clear shoe goo, comes in a big silver metal tube. When I press the cap on I turn it to smear the epoxy a little. They do require a good pull when you have to take them off but none have run away from me yet and they have been on a year with approx 1K+ miles.
