Default Resto Mod? Fitment?

Hi all!

I just bought a C3 and am looking to do a retro mod swap. I have heard that a C4 frame/susp/powertrain will fit under the C3 body with no custom work.

Also, that a C5 frame will fit under the C3 body with some custom work to fit...how true are these?

Thanks,
The Factor

there really is no frame in a C4 and C5 like in your C3. they make after market tube frames with C4/C5 suspension, and mounts for the LS series engines. or you can take your original frame and fab in your own.

C4-up frames are much wider than a C3 frame, notice how the lower part of the C3 body curves in.

You need something like this:

Pricey, but really nice stuff (this is not my car).

Correction C4 engine/trans yes

C5 engine, yes. C5 transaxle, nope.

To answer the OP original question, restomod fitment? NOTHING FITS! Approach it from this POV and you will be happy when something does instead of disapointed when everything doesn't. /:\

Exactly!Even C-4 stuff requires a fair amount of fab work.If you have the equiptment, some fab skills, and tons of patients. It's well worth it if you do.(Best mod I've done yet.)
