Im not sure what to think of this. I bought my 79 about 11 months ago and have replaced LOTS of stuff on it so far. Nothing Ive found to this point has been Bubbaized.
Tonight I went to put on new plug wires, and found the front 4 cylinder wires were routed thru the motor mounts and under the block up to the distributor. The length of plug wire # 2 was 56"
Crazy 'ain't it? That is how they came from Chevy. Shielding over the wires to dampen the radio interference. Notice how no wires are from the top of motor. mike...
You don't have to remove the motor mount. Just carefully remove the
boot from the distributor end of the wire and feed it thru the motor
mount. There is also a wire loom next to the motor mount that
the wire clips into.
Easiest way to access the wires and feed them thru the motor mount
is to remove the front wheels and reach your hand thru the opening
in the fender wells.
Thanks for the responses. I had originally typed in my 2nd post that the wires wouldnt fit thru the motor mounts before I edited it. Thats what Nowhere Man was responding to.
