It was an old SCCA racer for over twenty years. it had been rusting in a barn for a while when I bought it. Rolling chassis only with 4 flats and a bunch of busted fiberglass on it.
I figured I couldn't possibly make it worse, and the car's race heritage was it's value, so I kinda "restored" it in a way.
All the body mods and paint queues are old school, including the "Hot" orange side pipe primaries. I figured that I wasn't risking much there because I have to repaint those things constantly anyway. Turned out pretty cool to me, though the wife thought the colors were "arresting"'. I took it as a compliment.
The front spoiler is little more than a prop since it is too low to drive with. I plan to stick it on for car shows.
The numbers are "Fathead" style and peel off and can be reused. I'm not sure I'm comfortable driving with them around all the time.
Nice catch on the no back up lights. I had to scratch build the wiring harness and that was one detail I just didn't want to mess with.
It has taken a lot of time and money to get it here and this forum has been a huge help.
Probably wouldn't cool worth a hoot with that spoiler covering up the main means of airflow to the radiator.
Actually as there's no headlights and plastic guards hanging down into the radiator path, and no front licence plate, the front spoiler is guiding more air into the radiator.
Oh and I forgot to mention that there are ducts on both sides of the radiator that direct air into the front brake rotors as well, I also suspect that ground effects also played a role in it's design. thanks
