I picked up my 72 frame and 30 of it's closest pieces today from the powder coat shop. I took all the stuff that I'm doing in satin black to them 2 wks ago today. Every part came wrapped in foam and plastic, except the frame. I felt like a kid at Christmas. The parts are absolutely beautiful. Now I'm going to haul the parts that will be done in pewter down on Monday. My stroker engine should be done any day now as well. No real hurry but I can't wait to get a look at it too. The project will go on hold for a month as my elk hunting season is fast approaching. Then reassembly of the chasis will begin.
Well I organized the garage today and a few pics of the project in photobucket. I bought the car in early May. It was a local car that was last registered in CA in 1994. I knew the car was solid and had a lot of potential. I also knew it would take a lot of work to make it right. But I'm pretty handy with a wrench and took on the challenge. My goal is to drive this car on my birthday in Feb. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one, but I think its doable. http://s766.photobucket.com/albums/x...72%20corvette/

Thanks, it really does. Even my wife who tried to talk some sense into me about the purchase, was really impressed. I kept telling her, surface rust only. This car is solid. Believe me I know what real rust is, I grew up in SE MI. She's finally a believer, even made the comment that if I thought the body work was more than I could handle, then let a pro do it. I'm still of the mindset that I can do 75% of the body work, then turn it over to the painter for final clean up and spray.
