That it's considered the best looking body style of the C3's. (Just kidding guys. All C3'S Are Gorgeous).

Did you recently purchase it or are you looking at getting it? The 1981 is a nice cruiser. A lot of folks beef up the engine or swap it out for more power. It came with a computer. Last year that a 4 speed was available. You got a power assisted driver seat. Some 81's were produced at both plants therefore you had some with laquer paint while others had acrylic enamel, etc, etc.

Someone on here should be able to break down the VIN for you. Get yourself a copy of the "Corvette Black Book" lots of good information in there. What color is it?

Welcome to the Forum!

Car built in St. Louis Missouri (11th character an "S"), most likely off the assembly line around 11 Feb 1981. "V" - Flint engine plant, "01" - January, "07" - seventh day of the month, Next character is most likely NOT a "2" but is a "Z" yielding "ZDC" - a 190 hp, 350 ci, car with a manual (4 speed) transmission from California.

419520 consecutive unit number; 19,520th 81 Corvette assembled; trim tag will tell you month and week of the month of production.

...Eng # V01072DC...
V Flint Engine
0107 date engine was assembled at Flint (January 7th)
2DC is actually ZDC suffix code for 4 speed with California emissions

Not of much benefit for a car that's been converted to RHD in any case.
