Shortly after I bought my project '68 my daughter got me this vintage ad from a magazine which was a split two page ad for the '68 Coupe. I had a good friend at work photo shop it (amazing job, no trace of split) into a nice picture format and then another friend frame it. He had the idea to use an insert such as the crossed flags which are an actual trim piece from somewhere (?) on a Vette. That gives it a nice touch I thought. It hangs in my den and serves as motivation for the project. [I think I posted this on another site a while back, if it was here, then my apologies for being redundant, consider it a senior moment]
You are very fortunate to have such a thoughfull daughter and a couple of very talented friends. That's the nicest framed Corvette add I have ever seen. Very nice!
mine didn't come out nearly as nice as yours, but same idea. Kid across the street from me had a friend with a beautiful red 68 Camaro and I was going to try to recreate this ad... but the kid's car ruptured a fuel hose and it burned to the ground before I could set it up.

Great idea the Vette and Camaro are like kissing cousins.
The crossed flag emblem is a wheel cap cover - great idea!!
You are correct Sir! The guy showed me a photo he had framed with some kind of a coin or medal of some sort that was relevant to the photo and gave it depth. I liked the idea so I picked up the emblem somewhere and now that you mention it that's exactly what it is.
