Default Old Corvette Ad

Shortly after I bought my project '68 my daughter got me this vintage ad from a magazine which was a split two page ad for the '68 Coupe. I had a good friend at work photo shop it (amazing job, no trace of split) into a nice picture format and then another friend frame it. He had the idea to use an insert such as the crossed flags which are an actual trim piece from somewhere (?) on a Vette. That gives it a nice touch I thought. It hangs in my den and serves as motivation for the project. [I think I posted this on another site a while back, if it was here, then my apologies for being redundant, consider it a senior moment]

Very nice. You have a thoughtful daughter and a couple of talented friends!!

My birthday is coming up and....ahem....I have room on a wall in my office..........

Food for thought: I wonder how many guys would admit to trading in their 67's to take advantage of the "Convertible Coupe" concept in 1968?

There is only light rain falling in MD at the moment. Hope everyone survives Irene with minimal damage.

I have a 68 and would love that on my office wall! Great job by your daughter and gifted friend to frame that for you!

That's cool. There's a local sandwich shop that's using a C3 in their 40 year anniversary ads. Not sure if it's the owner or what.

very nice! I have something very similar, except I don't think the framing shop did quite as good a job on mine.

mine didn't come out nearly as nice as yours, but same idea. Kid across the street from me had a friend with a beautiful red 68 Camaro and I was going to try to recreate this ad... but the kid's car ruptured a fuel hose and it burned to the ground before I could set it up.

Great idea the Vette and Camaro are like kissing cousins.

You are correct Sir! The guy showed me a photo he had framed with some kind of a coin or medal of some sort that was relevant to the photo and gave it depth. I liked the idea so I picked up the emblem somewhere and now that you mention it that's exactly what it is.
