It was good to meet a few folks from the forum (Nowhere Man, 69 Chevy, 73LS1, 70BBVert) on Friday. The weather on Friday was great - Saturday not so good. We left at lunch time and ran into some heavy rain on the way north. I didnt spend much time in the Car Corral - asking prices looked to be about double what they were for similar cars at the Spring Carlisle show ... and I'm not sure if there were more C3's for this show than that one or not. It will be interesting to see what is in the corral for the Fall Carlisle show. These pics were all taken on Friday.
Thanks for posting, Roy69. Love the C3 photos. If I was there I would look at your blue '69 all day long. It is a beauty. My idea of a perfect Vette
There was a 68 or 69 I saw on Saturday (no pics) with the interior done over in white - I always thought I would like that, but it didn't move me. It originally had the light blue interior and the blue carpeting/dash etc was still used ..... maybe it would have been better with black dash and carpet.
Hi R69
I was there and STILL enjoyed your pictures!
It's funny that I noticed many of the same cars as you.
There really isn't any other Corvette event that offers so much for so many people's different interests.
Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures.
Regards,
Alan
We went and had a great time. First time there and while some folks complained about low turnout I thought it worked well being able to park close and walk around freely.
Almost joined the C-3 ranks, the wife was impressed with a blue '76 a local guy had a $10k sign on. I asked her later if she wanted to go back and take a close look at it and she said no. Then halfway home she brought it up again, I think she had second thoughts a little too late!
...this very same '75 L-82 4psd, no A/C, Flame Orange, Saddle Leather convertible is a car that I almost bought in the car corral there around 2000-2002. The "new" owner has been bringing it back ever since. It is one of 366 L-82 convertibles built in '75 and I really wanted it, but sadly let it go to another owner. I don't really regret it though. Wasn't meant to be. It was for sale in the car corral for $18.9K, and that was about 9yrs ago.
Nice to meet you guys Didn't take many pics this time because I was hanging out trying to sell some excess parts. Also met dbeal1958 & his son when he was looking at some parts I had for sale.
Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative next year. Many of us left early due to the impending hurricane.
Great pics Roy! I guess I forgot to tell you my screen name, I was the guy there with my son. It was nice to meet you, and the others!
Friday weather was great! We had a great time at the show. I know the weather kind of put a wet blanket on some stuff, but I will be back!
PKguitar - you did tell me your name (my bad for not listing it above) and it was good to meet you and your son.
I think next year I'll bring a "C3 Corvette Forum" small sign (20x30??) to put up in whatever meeting area the C3 members decide to meet in to help get the gathering going.
