Quick/dumb question.... My shift **** spins lose, what can I use to keep it tight, but easy to remove when/if I need to? Every car or truck I've ever owns with manual steering never had a **** that spun lose. Not a big deal, but find myself re-screwing the **** between gears.

If this is an aftermarket shifter there should be a jam nut to secure the ****.
If it is stock I have no answer!
Nice looking *****.....wish they would come up with another option for the '82 automatic shifter ****. BTW...has there ever been an aftermarket shifter **** for the '82???

Lupigiato,
The word is LOOSE, rhymes with Bruce, goose, duece, spruce, etc. and means not tight.
LOSE rhymes with booze, crews, shoes, etc. and means misplaced.

Mine used to come loose.. unscrewed it some and dabbed some loctite on the thread.. hasnt moved since.
So I guess the new **** I just installed does not impress anyone. I took off one with custom flames. It did not have a shift pattern and with my Alzheimer's sometimes I would just sit there not knowing what gear I was in.
