Not worth the hassle. Purchase the AIM and take a look. The birdcage was the first assembly installed on the underbody. Pretty much everything else on the car hangs off the birdcage. Replacing the entire cage would be a huge chore.

Yeah, that sounds like a hell of a job. I'd just get another car and move any good bits from your current car onto it.
Is there anywhere that makes a whole new, steeled out C3 body? I've been having a look just out of interest and can't find anything. I did find some C1 and 2 bodies though. Plenty of chassis. It'd be cool to make a brand new C3 one day after a few promotions at work!
I live in Lorain Ohio. I Have a chance to buy birdcage for 300
dollars and I know I can't get a donor car for anywhere near that price
That is why I'm leaning toward the 77 birdcage but now I need to know if can exchange it.
