Why do you carry insurance if you don't plan on using it? Insurance companies do not automatically raise rates or cancel policies in the event of an accident.
If you have insurance and the accident happened like you said, it sounds like you were extorted and bullied into doing something very foolish if not illegal.
You realize that in not reporting to your insurance company that your car is now damaged that you could be dropped?
Only a couple of reasons for not calling the cops. You felt sorry for her because she had really big..... You were drinking and driving. Or the accident was your fault.

Yeah, that sounds about right to me.
Why did you have $500 cash on you? If you're a drug dealer that would explain that, and that cash doesn't mean much to you, and that you didn't want the cops coming because you didn't want your vehicle searched...
If it really wasn't your fault and the above isn't true, then you would just go through her insurance company and yours would probably not ever hear about it.
It's not MEANT to affect your premium but unfortunately it usually does. I had a similar experience and called my insurer to get the free two truck they offer, and they insisted on handling the whole claim for me. They promised several times it would not affect my premium but the following year it went up quite a bit. I understand the effect of inflation, but I'm young, and, insurance usually drops dramatically year by year for young male drivers. I just switched insurer, but the moral of the story is, don't tell them anything they don't ask.
They said that they were going to call the police and insurance company if I didn't want to solve that problem with some cash. I tried to convince her and her daugher's husband who owns the car that it was her fault. After like an hour I said fine I'll give you what you're asking for and lets just call it a day. I tried to make them pay for my vette but the assh*les said "no becasue you still hit her". So I ended paying $500 for the damm 09 Mercedes e300 fender.
I think it would of been worse If this accident was reported to the police and insurance company.
WOW!!!!! You are a SUCKER!!!!!!!!!! She ran a stop sign, got hit, and drove away with $500.00!!!!!!!!
Wait a minute..........I smell a rat...........I think this thread is a falsehood, somehow. Nobody is that stupid. But what's the point? Why post an obviously ficticious thread? I don't get it.
From the way you describe the accident, it appears to be her fault as she disregarded a stop sign and you had the right of way. FWIW - in NJ and most likely other states you are legally required to report an accident to the police. You may want to go to the PD and request to file a report to CYA and then you can pursue a ticket against the Mercedes driver for disregard of a stop sign and failure to report the accident.
Something smells fishy, though. Classic insurance may refuse to cover the claim if your brother was driving (as he may not be on the policy as a driver), but if he was a passenger - this should not be an issue. Did someone have the car without permission or without a valid driver's license?
I had an accident recently with my DD (it was my fault and very minor damage to both vehicles) we called the police and filed a report and then I asked the other driver to get an estimate whevever he wanted to take it - I ended up having him sign a release and paid him $500 for the repair after he received his estimate; this way it didn't get listed as a reportable accident and he got his car fixed. Basically the imprint from my license plate screw gouged into the rear fender of his Honda. Some moron slammed on his brakes to make a sudden turn and the guy I hit slammed on his brakes and I ran into him after braking to about 5mph.
ALWAYS get a Police report... without that, you are in for a world of hurt, she can report that you left the scene of an accident, and then you are at total fault regardless of what happened.
My guess is you may have the other party claim an injury at a later date and you'll really be in hot water for not filing a police report. In my state(WI) they are mandatory in any accident. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. Most of that I did not know until now and it was my first car accident. I just happened to carry that amount of money that day. I wasn't hiding anything from the police because everything in the vette is legit and I have a clean record. I'm also a young driver and I just didn't want the premium to be affected or have accident records on my license. If I have accident record(s) on my license then it would be harder for me to get my CDL license...
rule #1, always call the police if there's an accident, that way you can tell your story and let the insurance companies read the police reports. otherwise its your word against hers. and paying her off right off the bat isn't going to help your cause at all. Its going to cost way more then $500 to repair a fender. She's going to go after your insurance company and say you tried to bribe her because it was your fault. you're screwed.
Guys, I was born at night but not . . . . She runs the stop sign and he pays for the her bumper. Come on. We're not getting the whole story. You got off lucky only paying $500 if it was a Mercedes.

Thanks. We use different terminology in Canada. I guess the OP has aspirations to have a career in commercial transport. I have a couple of friends who chose that route (bad pun) and they love it. I truly wish the OP had called for the police, however. I won't comment further.
