Would love to see pics of the engine and interior. I think the stripe on it looks pretty good. Did you find the car in the newspaper, Craigslist, Hemmings, or word of mouth? We look forward to more updates!
Hi C12,
Looks like you've made a very nice discovery. The 70 LT-! certainly is a terrific car.
You may want to contact Drew Papsun, (keeper of all things related to LT-! data), with your VIN and other info. You may have a car not in his survey yet, or he may be able to tell you a little about your car's history.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Unfortunately the car is being garaged about an hour from me, so I can only see it on weekends. I will take some more pics when I am up there Sat/Sun.
I found the car after mentioning to my Dad that I was looking to pick up a chrome front and back C3 specificly something with a 4 speed and some stones. My 73 L-48 is an auto with 190 horse. I love it, but to me a Vette should be a muscle car, and that one just isnt. I digress. So my pops tells me that a golf buddy of his has a car that was in storage near me, didnt run, that he was just looking to dump. I asked what he knew and he said not much, blue, coupe, 70, oh and he says it has 370 horse. I knew that was the hp number for the LT-1 so I decided that I needed to see it. I saw the car about 2 weeks later, the rest is history.

Make sure when you drop the gas tank you check for the build sheet on top. What a find that would be!!
I'm not optimistic. Bubba did tell me that the tank had been out and had the liner stuff put in. I asked if the tank sticker was there or if he had it and he just said no. All of the rear end suspension rubbers are rotten, so I will need to get those fixed. When I do I'll drop the tank and look for myself.
Pic of the interior for you. The dash and console are in good shape. No cracks. The carpet, seats, and doors need to be replaced, and the e-brake console is trashed. It will be nice though because I'll be putting some of the heat shield stuff down while the carpet is out.

You don't have to drop the tank to look, just pull out the gas tank neck seal and look with a flash light. That's how I found mine. I also removed it without dropping the tank.

Is it difficult to remove the gas tank neck seal? I'd like to try you method for locating the tank sticker on my car.
Update. The car was not getting any gas. Since it sat for so long I figured that the fuel in it needed to come out, and that the fuel pump and carb were probably pretty gumed up. So I drained out all of the old gas. Once I had some new gas in we checked the fuel pump which was working fine (although it dumped some seriously brown gas out into a jar), so the problem was in the carb. I had it professionally rebuilt, and once reinstalled the car fired up. It puffed blue smoke for about a half hour, and its not tuned very well, but it ran!
I took it around the block a few times, but it isnt plated, so I didnt go far. I will get it registared this week, and timed this comming up weekend. Hopefully then I can get it out on the road at least for a few minutes.

Reason: Because I can't spell
Great find, and I like the striping. I would find some rallye wheels, IMO. Would you tell what you had to give for it? It would give all the "seekers" hope!
It is going to be a real treasure when you are finished. Congratulations!
