Impressive. If these are a one off, you probably should have five made.
I still can. I don't plan on racing on these, and have never had wheel issues in the past. Are you just thinking of getting the extra as kind of an insurance policy?

Yup. If these are one of a kind, you are out of luck if one is damaged beyond repair. That said, if you're not racing, it is very likely a waste of money. Your supplier may have excellent repair capabilities. I would minimally ask about something like a bent wheel.
Renderings of YJ8 inspired 18" wheels I'm having made. 18x8 with 4" BS -10 offset on the front.
18x9.5 5.375: BS 5mm offset. Thoughts?
I like the YJ8s still have mine as backups. You should just make them all 18x9.5 so you can rotate them and 9.5s fit up front no problem (the extra wheel/tire is always beneficial for steering grip). Then you can make a 5th one as a backup as they will all the be the same. Idk if I like the middle hub on your renderings they give me "centerline wheels" feels. I think I would prefer them smooth like the original YJ8s but if you would reduce the need for such a large center cap that would be great. Since you can play with offsets and such maybe make the offset more negative to decrease how deep the caps need to be. Something smaller would def look better.
Up to a 5.0 to 5.5" BSP will fit in the front.
With an 18.0" wheel.
Just measured this yesterday.
No need to limit yourself to 8.0" wide up there.
I know a couple guys running 10.0" wide in the front
Although 9.5" is pretty common.
The tread width is very important, and the wheel needs to be about as wide as the tread for support.
It does not matter if the sidewall / tread rubs the sway bar or frame a little bit at full lock.
That only happens at parking lot speeds.
