Window Noise.
I'm getting ready to buy some parts to fix the rattling windows on my 81. I was planning on replacing the regulator rollers and inner felt on the door panal.
I assume that I don't need to replace that actully regulator but wanted to get another opinion.

It's common for the PW motor mount to break. A stronger aftermarket reg. gear is also rec. since the factory one gets stripped. Both replacement mount & reg. gear are avail. from the major vendors.
I lubed the gears on both w/ white lithium grease after dr. side reg. gear was replaced & pass. side gear is still good.

you wont know for sure untill you take it out .i need to replace the pin that holds the spring and the rollers for the glass.i was told to buy the new regulator.the gears on the old regulator are verry soft .i need smaller hands.

It should be noted that the best cure for rattles-no matter where they occure-is a good set of side pipes.
