side mirror fell apart

Default side mirror fell apart
my drivers side chrome mirror fell apart yesterday as i was driving along
noticed that it was drooping, so adjusted it back so i could see
then a couple minutes later it was drooping again
so as i went to adjust it, it fell in to my hand at about 80km/h (50m/h)
the ball stud has separated from the main stem
the ball stud has a spline...
so do i just press them back together or is there a glueable solution?

anyone else have this happen to them?

Order a replacement mirror. Some folks knurl the ball and press the head back in place, but that is iffy.
