Of course, an intelligent reading of the original post said nothing about using vinegar on the inside. Right? Comprende?
I forgot on the corvette site we use 12 different window cleaners for the inside, outside, top, middle and bottom of each window and make a 8 hour job out of cleaning windows.
Also didn't say anything about cleaning dog s*h*i*t* off your keyboard oh wait thats your fingers.
Comprende?
Personally, I would not want to get any vinegar on the rubber or on the paint either. Thanks for the tip that it works, but a little too unsafe for me to use on my car.
Most of those are acids and some are alkalis.
Most dedicated window cleaners are not acids.
One good method is to run or spray water on the glass to keep it wet and use a new razor blade. then wipe with regular window cleaner. Newspaper has no lint.
Simplest approach, wax. It kills two birds with one stone. Gets off the etched spots, prevents spots from reforming, doubles as Rain-X. I guess that makes three birds.

Doesn't the wax make the blades chatter? Small point also - wax or polish or sealant?

Not that I notice, maybe if you have old crusty blades. Nice flexible new blades never chatter. I use center mount with no spreaders these days so that may make a difference also. I use TechShine which is really good also. Stoner works good also.
