I've spent 14 months making my beater Vette that I paid 3k for into a good looking daily driver. I've done all the work myself including the paint job that I did in my open air barn.
Yesterday made it all worth it when the girls at the local Sunoco/Convenience store asked my girlfriend what her boyfriend did for a living to afford a car "like that"....lol Nevermind that I drive a 40 thousand dollar F-350 dually 95% of the time. No one ever asks about that
No bragging at all. My car is far from perfect. Just amazed at all the attention an old Vette can get regardless of the condition.
Sir we are serious about asking for more picture/infos.
Getting a 30+ years wreck into a DD is a noble task, you saved one Vette.
The experience has to be shared.
Dave...your car looks great.
What does the engine bay look like?
What does the interior look like? What kind of drive train does it have, tranny, rear end?
I like a couple things you've done that are worth noting from what I can see....the rocker panels instead of chrome look to be painted flat black; the exhaust tips instead of the original curve down come straight out the back into pointed tips.
It's a nice looking car and I lifted the photo from your public profile to post here so others would have a second photo of the car.
Anyone who's done this much good work to a car from the cost base you bought it is of great interest to the rest of us so lots of photos is nice to see and some discussion. A narrative on what you had to do to it, what you had to spend to get it in that shape, what the motor's like versus original, etc. This is an information driven forum that thrives on narrative and photos of other's good work and yours is certainly good work.
The girlfriend/fiance would, of course, just be a bonus photo.
I have a 76 l48 with borg warner S10 four speed and 3:36 to 1 rear end that I bought for around $10,000 and because I don't do the heavy wrenching I put another $10,000 into having it, re engineered with true duals, etc. the way I wanted it with no pellet cat converter, for reference before taking it on a road racing track for a one time experience for fun. I'm too old to enjoy busting my knuckles on 35 year old bolts though I do all the small things to it. I am up to 62 different things done to the car to get it the way I want it in the year I've owned it and am down to some cosmetic things to do over the winter in my garage now. Love the car.

If I ever park my vette on the street I am constantly going back to check on it, so worried about it... have to remind myself the vette is worth about what we paid for our Honda CRV...

That is pretty funny - I think the snow you see is actually dirt/sand
