Default Need Some Pricing Help

I;ve a 73 coupe, 350 ci, 4 speed, basically all original except for Hurst shifter and shocks. Car has around 70,000 miles but, hasn't been run for about 10 years, so it;ll need a new engine at least. Will need paint also.

Trying to get an idea of what I should ask for it.

Thanks,

Mike

tough to say without a bit more explanation and photos IMO - fill out your location-- where the car has lived is important since C3's are susceptible to birdcage rust as well as in the rear frame arches.

Here's a link on how to post photos from the help forum: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/help...es-thread.html

Absent more info, I'd guess $5-6k but just got back into C3s after several years of C6's and may not be well tuned to the market.

Good luck-

New engine and paint alone can be $12-$15K. Need to see pics and others who know much more than I can chime in.

you won't get much more than a parts car price out of a non running car needing paint..
if it has rust, then no limit to the bottom price..

Why do you say it needs a new engine? Is the engine original, numbers match? If it is, a future owner may want a new engine only if it gives them a performance increase, keeping the original for another day.

is the engine frozen?? if not, there is no reason to believe it needs to be replaced. i would see if it will turn over (not necessarily start). it is always better to be able to say the engine is free than to not know or insinuate that the engine is bad and needs to be replaced.

if the engine is in fact bad, and the car is basically sound, the pricing should reflect an engine-less vehicle. i would think no more than 3-4k max.
