Finished painting the emblems earlier today. Not too bad.

Thanks! Actually just followed some of the guys on previous links.

First I used a mild soap thinking that I would have problems with the chrome, but that cleaned up incredibly well. In fact the after picture looks even better in real life as the upper part of the flag has lots of reflection in the picture.

I did use a little thinner getting off the old red part but as you can see it was mostly gone anyway.

I then tried the Testors enamel as they suggested in previous threads. I used Dark Red 1104 and black and white. I don't know what everyone else's red emblems look like but mine were pretty faded and tough to know without a new one. Now all mine match and I am fine with that.

did the same to mine with the same paint, but eventually replaced them, as the chrome had deteriorated enough that it bothered me. Yours looks like it came out very nice.

I had mine rechromed and then I painted them with a tooth pick also.
