I found a 1969 L88 with very low miles, garage kept and for sale by a survivor of the original owner that knows nothing about it. Wha ballpark amount may it be worth?

$10,000 to $750,000 depending on condition and authenticity.
What's the seller asking? No disrespect, but most of us have never seen an actual L-88 car except at shows and events and in print. Are you sure you've found one in a garage?
if the owner knows nothing about it then i can assure you it is not a L88.. what are the odds of an original not before seen L88 being found as a 1st post on this forum....
don't think so..
it's probably a 69, and a big block, that's about it... 99 times out of 100, it ain't a L88..
Hi vn,
Personally I think you have an obligation to inform the owner of what he has.
In my world if you don't, and he sells it to you for $10k, you'll only be able drive it for a couple of weeks. He's going to tell someone who knows about cars what he did and who will clue him in. It'll turn out he has a friend named Vito who will come to your house and take both of your knees home with him.
It's one thing to find a great set of rare valve covers for $15; this is something all together different.

Alan

feb 99.... freaking charter member!
Seriously, if it's the real deal it would be worth a lot of money... $200k? $500k? Again, depending on condition, originality and ability to establish that it is an original L-88 through a combination of documentation and verifiable original parts. Additional info/pics would be nice.
But if it's a clone, and it could have been put together as a clone way back in the 1970s, $50k might be way too much for it.

.............very, very hard for me to believe a "charter member" would be asking the value of a '69 L-88.
....kinda like believing Obama is a natural born citizen.
I agree! If the OP will pm me the owners phone number, I'll tell by Thursday what it's worth.
If you knew of an original L88 for sale and the owner doesn't know what it is worth, would you give the guys phone number to anyone else?
I bought my 72 from the daughter of the owner when she was selling off his collection of cars and trucks after his death. She didn't know anything about the car, but enough people who were "experts" had her head filled with ridiculous numbers, so she was tough to deal with. I still paid too much for the car, but I'm happy.
