Hey guys, took my '76 Vette out for a spin today, 2 minutes in she died on the roll. Mine is a L82 with a new Mallory HEI distributor and a Edelbrock Performer intake. I pulled over and stopped. I cranked it over, it was like there was no spark Then I let her roll back a few feet.....I was going up hill, stopped, put it park and turned the key and it started right away. Do you think it might be the neutral switch on the tranny or ignition switch? thanks, Deny.

Did you happen to tilt the wheel right before this happened?

I just replaced my neutral safety switch in mine. If it were the switch, trust me, it wouldn't have started. In fact, the engine wouldn't even turn over once. When you turn the key, and the switch is no good, all you get it ....silence..... So it can't be the switch.

Yeah you're right. The key would be dead with that neutral switch faulty.
The funny thing is when the car is moved in neutral either forward or back, when put back in park, it starts.
