I had the Blue Max Solid core wires on my '69 with points ignition. Any advantage using them with my ZZ4 and the HEI setup. You cut them to length which I like instead of getting "custom fits" that seem to be either too short or too long.
I use them with non-resistor plugs. That way, other people around me get to enjoy my car through their radios.
(Actually, they are inaudible on FM radio and really only a problem for AM.) But, some electronic circuitry does not work in my car, even when attached to it's own battery due to electronic noise. (Vericom goes haywire but MP3 player works fine.)
They are nice in that you can solder the ends to the wires to ensure maximum current transfer and you never end up pulling the wire out of the metal end when pulling them from the plugs or distributor.
I use an electronic ignition box and Mallory recommends a spiral core wire between the coil and cap, which I have.

I had them on my Z28 back in the 70s. They used to blow the fuses in my radio could not play it anyway for the static. Pulling up in the driveway our neighbor came running out to tell me that there was something wrong with my car that it was all out of tune because his TV was all fuzzy when I drove by.
