I need (like) to replace the supply and return fuel lines on the 72.
I know it's virtually impossible to sneak a one piece line into place without lifting the body but have heard that some people have spliced the lines somewhere and make it work.
Has anyone done this? Where are the splices? compression or flared?
I know I could just buy a coil and make from scratch but thought I'd at least explore this first

I used 3/8th aluminum fuel line from Summit the return line 1/4th I used a tube bender and followed the pattern of the steel line that I removed to make a one piece line. The hardest part was running it up that back I had to straighten it a little then re-bend it in place. The most time consuming part was using a open end wrench to remove and replace the retaining clips along the frame rail.
Yeah, looks like I'll have to bend a line from scratch, oh well, it'll be up in the air to take the trailing arms off anyway, that might help some, I'll drop the tank / spare carrier, at least then I can sit upright.
Thanks

No your wrong, it IS impossible without lifting the body. I did mine in conjunction with replacing body mounts (without doing a total body off) and that was darn near impossible even when getting the body 4" off the frame.
