Purchase one of the How To Rebuild Your 700R books. Owner's manual lists what transmission fluid to use. Dexron II probably, but don't quote me on that.

It could be done with the car on jack stands and probably with the front of the car up on ramps although it may be a little more crowded. The pan gasket and trans filter is available at most local auto parts stores (got mine at NAPA). You will need a LARGE drain pan to catch the fluid when you first lower the pan. When you pull the old filter off of the bottom of the trans, make sure the plastic sleeve on the filter neck comes with it. If it sticks, use some kind of small hook tool to pull it out, just dont do any gouging in the process. There is a torque spec for the pan bolts but I'm not sure what it is. There should be an instruction sheet with the service kit.
