As I was taking a seat out of my 68 to repair a broken seat bracket I found that Bubba had worked on my seat belts. The belts were actually bolted through the floor (fiberglass) with bolts, washers, and nuts. They were not attached correctly to any of the reinforcement brackets. I am in need of some diagrams and/or pictures of the attach points. From the Corvette Central pictures I know something is missing but the underbody reinforcements all seem to be there. I do not have recoil belts BTW and I am not sure I have the correct belts as the attach end is bent. Thanks in advance for any help.
...The belts were actually bolted through the floor (fiberglass) with bolts, washers, and nuts...
That's more or less correct.
...They were not attached correctly to any of the reinforcement brackets...
That's not.
The assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows the installation and the underbody reinforcements for the belt anchor bolts. You should find anchor bolt holes in the floor.
Interesting. I have run into the same problem. I took out my passenger seat and the seat belts were attached to the thick center bolt under the seat. The Corvette assembly manual shows they should attach to the sides; it looks like there is an attachment point to the frame.
If someone can post a pic for me, I have a pic for flyeri from the Corvette assembly manual. But if anyone has ever removed the seats from a 69 and has a pic of the seat removed and where the seat belts are attached we both appreciate it.
