The 1971 L-S5
What do the C3 experts think about this model engine? Anything special, anything I should know?

The 71 LS-5 is/was a good reliable, regular gas, big block, with plenty of torque. There's nothing radical or special about them, so they're pretty much a trouble free engine.

It's a durable workhorse. It's also 40 years old.

Nice car, go look at it. Beware the phrase 'to the best of our knowledge' in connection with 'numbers matching'

Unfortunately it's 2,000 miles away. I'm going to try and get some video and undercarriage photos.
The guy said the paint is nicer n photos, which is pretty typical. Interior looks like it's seen better days. He went through a laundry list of receipts with me over the phone, it's had some good work done to it.
At the right price it could be tempting...and what would that price be, ya think?
