Default Help identifying this part

I think it plugs in on the passenger side on the firewall of a 1974. I'm also not sure what the "Start" button would do. Thanks for your help.

It's part of the seat belt over ride system, used on 74 and early 75's only.


See 12-43 in the 74 service manual.

Seat belt interlock override relay. 74 required weight on the drivers seat + a buckled seat belt. And here I could go wrong but if the car didn't start with the key this override allowed the car to be started (if the logical module went nuts for example). I should read my owners manual before posting really. Hang on to it, NOS ones go for 300$

That's good news Dembo! Since I don't have a 74 I will most likely put it for sale to help fund my 71 and 72s.

Possibly 75. My 74 had the seat belt interlock on the cowl, but it did not look like what's in the pic and did not have a button to push.

The one in the pic looks like a service replacement. The originals had the button in the centre, IIRC.
